The Real Season Begins

Central Oklahoma is preparing for their first HFC matchup of the season on Saturday. The Bronchos and the NW Missouri State Bearcats will face off at 12:00 p.m. at H.A. Chapman Stadium. The schedule softens up starting here, as the Cardinals and the Hornets are next in line.
Central Oklahoma heads into the matchup having just come up short against #4 San Diego. The Bronchos fell 38-33 to the Toreros last Saturday. The Bronchos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Central Oklahoma had strong showings from Baylor Hayes, who threw for 359 yards and 4 TDs (1 INT) while completing 71.4% of his passes, and David Wells Jr., who picked up 91 receiving yards and 3 scores. Wells Jr. had some trouble finding his footing against Rhode Island two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround.
Meanwhile, NW Missouri State came up short against Wyoming last Saturday and fell 20-10.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, NW Missouri State couldn't break through the O-line and finished the game with no sacks. The Bearcats have managed at most 1 sack in every game this season.
Central Oklahoma now has a losing record at 1-2. As for NW Missouri State, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.
There will be some key battles taking place outside the hash marks in this one, as a strong receiving corps lines up against a capable secondary. NW Missouri State's receiving corps grades out as a real strength, rated 83.0 overall. Central Oklahoma's secondary also grades out well, rated 81.0 overall.
