Conference Matchup
PGC opponents Pitt State and Space Force are preparing for a mid-season contest in Redwood City
Space Force will be playing the full four quarters on Saturday, but they're expected to have things wrapped up well before that. The Starfleet and the Pittsburg State Gorillas will face off in a PGC battle at 12:00 p.m. at Valley Children's Stadium. The schedule softens up starting here, as the Yellow Jackets and the Mustangs are next in line.
Space Force is headed into this one coming off a big win against #5 DePaul. The Starfleet secured a 17-13 W over the Blue Demons last Saturday. The win was just business as usual for the Starfleet, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
It was the Rayshon Luke show as he single-handedly carved up the defense, rushing for 140 yards and 1 TD on only 15 carries, while also picking up 37 receiving yards. Luke has been consistently good when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in 1+ every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg State won against Appalachian State two weeks ago with 21 points and decided to stick to that total again last Saturday. The Gorillas snuck past North Central with a 21-15 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gorillas.
Javen Jacobs was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 214 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Jacobs really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.
Space Force's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pittsburg State, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
